All About Finley

Finley is seven months old today!  I feel like the last month has gone by very quickly and that she has had some major milestones!  She is really becoming a person these days and I love getting to know her!

She weighs 15 pounds 4 ounces and is 26 inches long.  In weight, she has moved to the 10 percentile which is funny because she looks a bit chubby these days even though she is in the 25 percentile in length.  I think her sweet little round face makes her look nice and healthy! =)

She is a little log roller these days.  She rolls over once and then continues to roll.  It's pretty funny to see her in action.

She loves her crib and it has become a guessing game as to where we will find her when we go in after naps.

She has begun to sleep on her stomach more and more.  We still lay her down on her back, but she usually flips and stays on her stomach.  I think it is absolutely precious when babies sleep on their tummies so I'm loving this recent development!!!!!

She is obsessed with the remote control... who wouldn't be?  Look at all those buttons.

She likes the screensaver on the computer.

She is in size 1-2 diapers.  Sam's only sales size 1-2 of Pamper's....

She wipes her eyes when she is s-l-e-e-p-y!  There is no mistaking when it is time for bed!

She is trying to pull herself up on things.

The exersaucer is still her favorite toy.  She has mastered each of the toys on it and likes to spin around and work through each one.

Her hair has gotten a lot longer and she almost has as much as she did when she was born.  It seems to be getting a bit darker.

She can sit up really well by herself now.  She'll sit up without help for 10-15 minutes without any problem!

She has begun making this noise that sounds like she can't breathe.  I absolutely hate it!

She babbles in the following consonants: b, g, and d.

Her food repetoire expanded to include rice cereal, peaches, pears, bananas, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, and applesauce, but was then cut back to only rice cereal mid-month as we discovered some adverse reactions to solid food.

She is in LOVE with Daddy!  Devin is her favorite person and he can always make her laugh even when she is fussy.

She is still in 0-3 and 3-6 month clothing.  I'm not buying any more 0-3, but she has several outfits that size that still fit.

She is still on a four hour schedule, but with the addition of solid food, she is taking less formula per bottle... 5-6 ounces, five times a day with 3 "meals" of rice cereal.

She is in LOVE with our dog, Jenny... she is a close second to Daddy.

She still enjoys music.  Her favorite songs right now are Jesus Loves Me, Jesus Loves the Little Children, Jesus Lamb Of God, Oh How I Love Jesus, Thy Word, Old McFinley Had a Farm, The Wheels on the Bus, B-I-N-G-O, I Am a C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N, Rise and Shine, This is the Day, If You're Happy and You Know It, Ride Em Cowboys, and The Alphabet Song.

She has been partially weaned from her swaddle blanket.  She can now sleep with both arms out and only her legs swaddled.

She is really enjoying her sippie cup.  She can't really drink from it, but she loves holding it and chewing on it.

She is still toothless.

Even though she likes lots of toys now, she will instantly go for our cell phones if they are left on the floor.  She is also obsessed with figuring out my hairdryer.  I definitely think she has some of Devin's curiosity and love of how things work.

She can get up on her knees and hands these days.  She still isn't crawling, but she does lunge forward and has even tried to stand by putting her hands and feet on the ground.

She has started sucking her thumb occasionally.

She has been sleeping through the night again since we have corrected her tummy problems.

She continues to be a very happy baby for which I am amazed and incredibly grateful.

She watched her first video this month.  She liked it, but I am trying to limit her tv watching since she so far is very content without it.

Blue, blue, blue... Her eyes are still as blue as can be and I'm beginning to doubt that they'll change to green like we had expected them to.  I will say, however, that my eyes still looked blue in baby pictures, but are green now so who knows?

And...
She is truly the most wonderful, beautiful baby ever and I love her more than I can stand!

Just the Four... Umm... Five of Us

Last summer, Beth, Stephanie (Beth's mom), Millie (Stephanie's Best Friend), and I (pregnant with Finley) went to Florida together.  We had a great time and since then we have reunited for wedding dress shopping...

and then again yesterday for cake tasting and wedding planning.

I have to say that we all get along so well.  Even though we all have different personalities, we all somehow mesh and I just love that we do!

On Tuesday night when we got to Tulsa, Beth and I ate at a little place on Brookside.  Finley sat in a high chair for the first time with Beth's purse propped up behind her.  She LOVED drinking water from our straws!

Stephanie had this great big Humpty Dumpty that I just had to get a picture of Finley with!  She wasn't really in the mood for a photo session, but she did so want to eat his shoe!  I'm looking forward to taking more pictures with Mr. Humpty Dumpty once Finley hasn't been drug around in a car for two days straight.  She actually was really great the whole time we were out and about, but she had no desire to sit still once she was free from the carseat so it wasn't a great time to try to get a posed shot.

And though this is entirely off the subject, this morning Finley was on her stomach playing with toys and I went to mix up some rice cereal for her.  When I turned around, she looked like this...

She had managed to pull herself almost into a sitting position from her tummy!!!!  I couldn't believe it!  She is so amazing! =)

Do these Rosy Cheeks...

mean that Finley is FINALLY teething?  (Her cheeks look rosier in person than in this picture!)

Who knows!  I've thought she was teething for a couple of months now!

In other news, I can't tell you what a difference no rain, four nights of uninterrupted sleep, and curly hair that is actually "fixing" in this new sunny weather will do for one's outlook on life!  I feel like a new woman and am happy to report that we are finally getting to the bottom (hee, hee!) of Finley's diaper rash and stomach problems.  After several conversations with her nurse, we decided to cut all solid food except for rice cereal and see if things improved.

Since then, she has been blissfully sleeping through the night, her diaper rash is 99% cleared up, and her dirty diaper situation is beginning to control itself.  The bad news is that this means Finley most likely has a food allergy and we will have to reintroduce solid foods incredibly slowly to figure out which one(s) is the culprit.

Regardless, I'm super excited about our upcoming week.  Tomorrow we're going to Stillwater to pick up Beth and drive to Tulsa for an all day Wednesday wedding planning session.  It'll be really fun!  Also, I am looking forward to the long weekend with Devin.  We have no plans other than to just enjoy being together and if the weather is nice, we're hoping to take Finley swimming for the first time!  I can't wait!

Here Comes the Sun...

We have had one day without rain since April 26th... so we decided to take advantage of the wonderful sun today with a trip to Hafer Park.  Devin's parents bought Finley these sunglasses for her Christmas stocking and we tried them out today.  Finley loved them!  She didn't even try to take them off!
