Finley's Dance Recitals 2011-2012

Finley had her first BIG dance recital in May and it was so sweet to see her up on that stage in her cute little costume!  She is just the cutest thing ever!  I love watching her perform and seeing her personality on so many different levels.

Her ballet dance is to How Beautiful which Beth sang in our wedding so it was really fun that her first dance was to a song that has so much meaning to us!  I love that she sings the words... she just loves music so much and I can tell that it really "speaks" to her even at this age! =)  Her tap dance is hysterical!  Even though she is the youngest in her class, I think she was one of the best performers of this dance.  You can tell she just loves jumping in and jumping out.  HA!

I also never posted the video from her Christmas recital so I'm posting it as well.  It's fun to see how she has improved throughout the year!!!!  I'm so excited to see if her love of dance continues and if recitals are going to be a continual part of our future!

Our Tiny Dancer

Last night, we started a whole new phase of life.  DANCE!  I can't believe Finley is old enough for actual organized activities!  Devin and I were pretty unsure how this would go, but she absolutely loved it!

I was most nervous about getting her hair into a bun.  When Beth kept her this summer, she said she had no problem pulling her hair back into a ponytail so I knew it could be done, but I just hadn't ever tried.  Fortunately, it wasn't too difficult.  It looked super-cute at first, but it sort of fell as time went on... still cute, but I loved when it was high up on her head!

Kristin and I signed up our girls to take together so that we could chat while we waited.  Grace and Finley were fast friends and so cute together!

Everytime we peeked in at them, Finley was doing exactly what she was supposed to.  When we got home, she wanted to take a few more pictures.

She showed me "Big Pizza" (arms in first position) and "Chocolate Cake" (arms in second position) and then did a little jump from second to first position. I thought it was soooo cute!

When we were getting her into bed, I asked her what she wanted to do the next day and she said "Go back to dance class!"

I don't want to get tooooo excited, but I would obviously love to have a little dancer since I enjoyed it so much myself.  It'll be fun to see what she decides she's passionate about, but I think dance is going to be the perfect first activity for her!

She is seriously the cutest little ballerina and tap dancer I've ever seen!
