We MOVED!

So after looking for a new house for over a year, we are ecstatic to have finally found one!  We moved in two weeks ago and I am embarrassed to admit that I am more exhausted than I think I've ever been.  My friend Heather tried to warn me, but I really had no idea how much this move would take out of me.  There's just something about having your whole life in boxes for almost two months that totally mentally and emotionally drains you!

I hope to post pics of the new house soon, but first I wanted to post pictures of our old house.  We really loved our house and even though we were ready to move, I would be lying if I said that I wasn't incredibly sad to say good-bye.  This house was the first house I was ever part of buying.  It was the house I dreamed about when Devin and I got engaged.  It was the place we moved shortly before our one year wedding aniversary and the place we brought all three kids home from the hospital.  I close my eyes and see Devin and I cuddled on the couch watching Gray's Anatomy, the dishwasher where Evi pulled up for the first time, the hallway where Jude rolled over before I was ready for him to, and the living room rug where Finley sat up unassisted after weeks of trying and falling forward.

As excited as I am for a little more space, I will miss all the memories we created there and am thankful for these pictures that we took there this past fall:

Here are also the pictures that our realtor took for the listing:

We're excited to create just as many wonderful memories in our new house as we did in this one!!!!

All About Beth

Saturday was Beth's birthday and I begged to spend the day with her since her sweet hubby had to work that night.  She decided to come here and we had such a fun girls' day!  Finley was down for a nap when Beth got to our house, but Finley must have known that Aunt Beth was here because as soon as Beth walked into the living room, Finley started waking up!  There is no one who can make Finley laugh as hard as Aunt Beth and it was fun for Devin to see it as well!
We decided to eat dinner at Cheesecake Factory since it is one of our favorites.  We had fun just catching up and eating delicious food.  Beth had been out-of-town for a week so we hadn't really talked much so we blabbed all through dinner.  Afterwards, we went to see Eat, Pray, Love and it was horrible.  We were both really disappointed.  We ended our evening with a quick trip back to Cheesecake Factory for dessert-to-go and then came back to our house to split our desserts.  The best part!  They were so good!
Anyway, I always do an All About Finley post and though I won't do an All About Beth post in the same way, I thought it would be fun to do a sort of Pop Quiz on our friendship!
You know us well if you can answer ANY of the following questions...
  • What does PFG stand for?
  • Who is Deshaunke?
  • Where did the infamous "Here's your table!" comment occur at?
  • Which of us is Cracker Jack?
  • Which of us is Cat's Pajamas?
  • Where did these nicknames come from?  (And if you know, please tell me because I can't for the life of me remember!)
  • What animal sent me into a screaming fit outside the house that we shared?
  • Why is FC such a big secret?
  • What are the 4 locations we've been to on our Girls' Trips?
  • What does La, La mean?
  • What caused me to put on ALL of Beth's swimsuits during Bible Study?
  • Which guy did I go on a date with who was later set up with Beth (though she promptly refused!)?
  • What was the name of the TV series we watched together the last months of living together?
  • What did I know about the taxi driver in Austin that would've been better for Beth to know?
  • What Lifetime movie did we watch together in my apartment?
  • Who was mine and Beth's favorite OSU basketball player?
  • Who have we seen in concert together?
  • What weird super hero like power does Beth have?
  • What word did I teach Beth was a "bad" word?
  • What city did we run a 10k in?
That was so much fun!  I think I might do this every year for Beth's birthday so that I can keep a record of some of our inside jokes.  I KNOW I'm going to continue to think of more as soon as I post this!
Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BETH!  I love you so much and know only God could have ordained our FANTABULOUS (remember that word!!!!!) friendship!

Adam Turns 5!!!

How in the world did this little guy....

get to be this big guy?

Adam is turning 5 today and I just can't believe it!!!!!

On my first real date with Devin, he informed me quite proudly that he was going to be an uncle.  At the time, Amy and Dillon hadn't told everyone that they were expecting so Devin was excited to be able to tell me since I was "safe".

Fast forward eight months and Devin and I were attending the wedding of one of our future groomsmen when we got the call that Amy was in labor.  We rushed back to meet little Adam, but even though we arrived at the hospital shortly after he was born, we weren't able to meet him because he was under observation in the hospital nursery.

Two nights later, Amy, Dillon, and Adam were home and I drove an hour on a weeknight to meet the little guy for the first time.

I'm sure Devin's family thought I was a complete psycho, but even at the point, Devin and I were pretty serious and I think we both hoped that I would one day be Adam's aunt....

And well, fast forward almost exactly a year and....

This is us on mine and Devin's wedding day... Adam was our ring bearer....

I have loved being a part of this guy's childhood and have always been thankful that I started dating Devin just as Amy and Dillon were beginning to have children.  It is such a blessing to know that I can tell Adam one day all about how he was when he was 1, 2, 3, etc.

This year, I decided to start a new tradition where I take each of the boys out for a date with Aunt Chelle for their birthdays.  Yesterday, Adam and I celebrated his birthday with a trip to Toys R Us where he picked out this toy...

We then ate lunch at Chik-fil-a and he took a ride in this helicopter...

We then spent some time at the mall play area where he did a lot of this...

 and a lot of this...

We had such a great time and I am so looking forward to spending more one-on-one time with my nephews!  I couldn't believe how Adam just talked and talked.  We talked about his favorite toys, movies, friends, etc. and I loved learning even more about him.  It was a great day with a great boy!
