All About Jude: 6 Months Old

Dear Jude,
You have now been in the world for half a year!!!!  I love watching you grow up!  You are the sweetest little guy who is the perfect addition to our family!  One year ago (on the 14th), we decided to tell the world we were expecting you!  It's so hard to believe that you are now here and 6 full months old already!  I love you more than I even know!

Here's what you've been up to:

• You weigh 15 pounds 9 ounces (10 percentile) and are maybe 25 inches long (5 percentile)... I'm anxious for your next doctor's appointment because I can't seem to get a good measure on your length!  And you are definitely looking bigger than the 10th percentile.  You are my chubby monkey these days and it is precious!
• You are in size 2 diaper.
• You are still mostly in 3-6 month clothes.  Your shorts are still 0-3 months.
• You now go to the nursery at church and they love you!  They always tell us what a laid-back little guy you are.
• You spit up. way. too. much.  I love you, but enough is enough.  Please stop soon.
• You are sleeping like an angel and this makes up for all the spit up.
• You still like rice cereal, but some days you are more into it than others.  You do not like pears.  Apples are okay.
• I think you might have a fruit intolerance like your sister did, but I'm not sure yet.
• You can stand up and hold onto your exersaucer or to pieces of furniture.
• You are incredibly close to sitting up by yourself.  You sit up for little bits of time by yourself, but still lean forward quite a bit.  You can reach for toys though and pull them back to you.
• You might as well be crawling... you can pretty much get to anything you want to.  You are better at going backwards than forwards.
• You like to barrel roll.
• You really like being on your tummy.  You try to flip over when I change your diaper.
• You think Daddy is super-funny.  You fuss when he puts you down.
• You love Mommy, but you are in awe of Finley.  You watch everything she does.  SCARY! =)
• You are taking around 34 ounces a day.  You are pretty much weaned which makes me incredibly sad.  I loved feeding you, but you are happier with the bottle these days and you are growing healthy and that's all that matters.  You eat 6 ounces 5 times a day (8:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., 10:30 p.m.) and then a little 4 ounce bottle around 8.
• You take two long naps (9:30-11:00 a.m. and 12:30-3:00 p.m.) and one cat nap (5:00-6:00 p.m.)
• You sleep from 8:30 p.m. -8:30 a.m. and it's sheer bliss.
• You like chewing on the sippy cup we bought you.  You love watching your sister drink so I think you'll figure it out very quickly.
• You love sitting in your Bumbo with toys in front of you.
• You still absolutely adore your exersaucer.
• You don't sit in your bouncy chair very much anymore.  
• You still like your binky.  I try to put it in as soon as you are finished eating to help with the spit-up.
• Your eyes are blue, but I do think they will end up green.  We'll see.
• Your hair is beginning to come in.
• You still have a soft spot.  You can really see it at times.
• You can switch things from one hand to another and have been doing it for awhile.
• You can almost get the binky in your mouth... you are fairly successful most of the time.
• You are holding your own bottle better and better.
• You love to pull hair especially Finley's.
• You are definitely your own person, but are seeming to do things right when your sister did them. When I read back through her 6 month post, I felt like it could be yours.  I love that the two of you are similar, but can't wait to celebrate your differences.
• You really are a delight and I think I say almost every day how blessed we are to have such an easy baby!!!!!
