Finley is definitely at the stage (she's 21 months today!!!! All About Finley post coming soon!) where she is copying everything we do! Even though it puts a lot of pressure on us, it is really fun to see what she chooses to imitate. Here are a few stories from the last few weeks that I absolutely do not want to forget!!!!!
Story #1:
I have always encouraged Finley to play by herself for part of her playtime. I adore playing and interacting with her, but I also see the importance of her being able to entertain herself so last Friday after we had played together for awhile, I laid down on the playroom floor and picked up a book to read. At some point, I got up to check on something and when I came back into the playroom, this is what I found!!!!!
Story #2:
Finley has really enjoyed the pink car we bought her for her birthday. It is one of her main constant toys that she never gets tired of. Well, the other day, she kept getting in and out of it which is pretty normal, but then she started coming over to me and kissing me on the lips which she NEVER does... she always kisses my cheek... and would say "Bye-Bye" and then get in her car and wave. Well, it took me awhile, but after several times, I realized that she was totally emulating Devin!!!!! He ALWAYS gives me a kiss and says bye before getting into his car to go to work. I thought this was the sweetest thing.
Story #3:
Another funny story is that when Finley stayed with Aunt Beth, they would have their milk and coffee together on the couch in the morning. Well, one morning, I guess it was a bit cool and Beth covered her legs with a blanket. From then on, Finley would crawl up on the couch and would cover herself and this has continued on to our house! She loves crawling up on the couch or our bed and covering herself with the nearest blanket or pillow. It makes me laugh how a one time occurrence has such an impact!

Story #4:
Last story though I feel like I'm forgetting one... I have totally given up on saving the environment and am thoroughly enjoying Wet Wipes these days. They are just such a quick way to get Finley's face and hands clean. Well, she pulled out a diaper wipe after I changed her diaper and was playing with it. She came over to me and started wiping my face which I thought was pretty cute, but it got EVEN better because then she SPIT on it and tried to wipe my face!!!!!!!! I have NEVER, EVER, EVER spit on anything to wipe her face so I am not sure who has shown her this, but it just CRACKED me up!!!!!!!!!
