Our Weekend

We had a really fun, but super-busy weekend!  Friday night, we ran to the mall as a family to grab a few things I needed for the weekend.  We don't have a double stroller yet so getting out was a bit of an adventure.  Thankfully, Jude is so little that carrying him the sling is easy and doesn't get heavy too quickly.

(This was my attempt at newborn pics earlier in the week!)

Saturday, we drove to Tulsa for newborn pictures.  Jude did great which surprised me because he is usually awake a good portion of the day.  I love the lady who took the pictures.  I really wanted someone who specialized in newborns because they always know these great tricks to getting them to pose, sleep, and relax just the right way for pictures.  While we were getting Jude's pictures taken, Finley played with Aunt Tracey and Uncle West.  There is absolutely no way we could've made it through pictures without their help.  They totally gave up their day to help with her and even though I know they enjoy spending time with her, it was such a relief for us to have their help!  She totally loves them and had a great time, but we waited too long to pull her into the pictures so I'm not sure we got a decent shot of her with Jude or a decent family picture.  I can't help but be disappointed, but since the goal was to capture Jude, I really felt as long as he was doing well, we needed to concentrate on his pictures.  Had I known that he would sleep for the entire 3.5 hour shoot, I would have had us do pictures with Finley first.

After pictures, we went and hung out with West and Tracey and then later met my dad for dinner.

I was so thankful they were able to meet baby Jude and we could celebrate his birthday, my dad's birthday, and my brother's birthday!  We are sure going to enjoy celebrating in February each year!

Sunday, we went to Sunday School and Church.  That afternoon, Devin and Jude hung out while I took Finley to Hunter's birthday party.

Finley had a really great time for 5 minutes and then she went down a really fast slide and landed a bit weird and never quite recovered.  Her wrist is pretty puffy and she is favoring it a bit, but it didn't turn black and blue and she's able to use it so I'm thankful that it doesn't seem to be too serious.  I was sad for her because I think she would have really enjoyed the party if she hadn't gotten injured!

Of course, cake and icecream helped a bit. =)

Life as a family of four continues to be amazing.  I sometimes have to pinch myself that Jude is here and that Finley is adjusting so well.  Devin and I can't believe how blessed we are!
