Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Today is Devin's 30th birthday!!!!!!!!!

We are so glad that we get to celebrate all day together since Devin took the whole day off!  We are going to enjoy quality family time!

Devin has always gone overboard on my birthdays.  When we were dating, I wouldn't tell him when my birthday was because I hated them so much, but he went behind my back and found out when it was.  He then showed up at my house while I was getting ready for work and with the help of Beth and my coworker Kari, arranged for me to be off work for two days so that we could go to Dallas.  He took me to my favorite store, Anthropologie, and let me pick out whatever I wanted.  He also made reservations for us at Fogo de Chao which is my all-time favorite restaurant.

Needless to say, he is incredibly good at spoiling me so I always try just as hard to spoil him on his birthday!  It was fun to plan a ski trip behind his back, but we are all so glad that he finally knows and we can talk about it openly.  I am so excited to take him on this vacation and thankful that we are doing something so fun for his 30th birthday!

I love you, sweetie!  Finley loves you too, but that goes without saying since she literally lights up when you are in the room!!!!

Thanks for working so hard so that we can stay home and play together!

Happy birthday!!!!!!!!!!

We're Going Skiing!

Last night, we planned to have Family Dinner for Devin's birthday.  Unfortunately, half our family was sick so it didn't turn out quite like we were expecting, but that's okay!  We called in back-up (Allison) and sent some left-overs home for Andy so it worked out fine.

In August, I talked to Amy & Dillon and Johnny & Jan about taking a ski trip for Devin's 30th birthday and thankfully, they were all in!  It's an absolute miracle that none of us slipped up in the last 3 months in front of Devin and that we were truly able to surprise him.

I wrapped up a pair of ski googles (orange and black no less) on top of fake snow with a note attached saying "We're going skiing!!!!"

He seemed surprised.

We ate dinner.  Does my table look Pottery Barn-ish?  I thought it turned out pretty cute though I wish I had a few more pumpkins to put in my centerpiece.

Ate Dessert... peach cobbler, Devin's favorite.

Took some family photos.

Let Finley try on the googles.

And talked and talked about our upcoming trip!

Dillon, Amy, Adam, and Nathan-- we missed you!!!!!!

Peanut, Peanut Butter

If you know Devin then you know that he eats a peanut butter and jelly sandwich every day.  He loves them!  So when Dr. K gave the okay to give Finley peanut butter, Devin was put in charge of giving her that oh, so fun first taste!

Instead of jelly, he made her a peanut butter and banana sandwich (that's what the odd looking picture at the top of this is!) and we all agreed that it was YUMMY!

Here is Finley's first peanut butter experience in pictures:

I think PB&B's are going to become a daily meal for Finley as well!

More Pics of our Bedrock Beauty

We somehow managed to be ready early for Finley's Fall Festival at church on Saturday so we took some pics together.

I love these next "candid" pictures of us with Finley... especially the one of her with Daddy... You can just tell how much they adore each other!!!!

I love these next pictures of her!  She's such a cutie!

Finley had fun at the Fall Festival, but most of it was a bit old for her.  I think she's going to have a really great time next year and I loved that all the games were connected to Biblical stories.  The ball pit was the only activity that she could really enjoy, but boy did she enjoy it!!!!

And finally I had to get a picture of her on the cute red couch!
