Father's Day 2011
We had a full Father's Day Weekend!
On Saturday morning, we had breakfast at Devin's parents' house. After breakfast, we hung out for a little while and the boys were all busy playing Wii. Finley pretended to play and I'm sure in no time will be as engrossed as they were! =)
We left their house and went home for naps. Once naps were over, we packed up and headed to my brother and sister-in-law's house for dinner with my family. Devin and I were a little nervous how Finley would do since it had already been kind of a busy day and then we put her in the car for almost two hours, but as soon as we got to Aunt Tracey and Uncle West's, she was all smiles and full of energy. She immediately climbed into my brother's lap and camped out.
West and Tracey had just returned from Disney World and bought the kids each a Mickey Mouse. Finley is completely in love with hers and drags it around everywhere! She woke me up at 3 a.m. Sunday morning because Mickey's blanket had come undone. =)
When my dad arrived, Finley immediately ran to the door and screamed "Happy Father's Day, Grandpa Bill!" It was adorable and she basically didn't leave his side after that. She wanted Grandpa Bill's lap and helped him open his gifts, etc. I love seeing my dad with her and Jude!
After dinner and dessert, we put Finley in her swimsuit and took her to the splash park in my brother's neighborhood. Devin tried to get her to play in it, but she was too scared to get wet. Fortunately, Uncle West gave it a try and amazingly, she decided it was a fun place afterall!
After the splash park, we headed back home. Devin and I as always marveled at how much our kids love my family despite the fact that they see them so infrequently. I continue to be so thankful that God answers my prayers that our kids will be close to my family!
On Sunday morning as soon as Finley woke up, she said "Make Daddy breakfast!" I couldn't help, but laugh! We had been talking about how we would make Daddy breakfast for Father's Day, but I was surprised that she remembered!

Jude was pretty content with them as well!

I love this picture because she is totally looking at this boy like "What are you doing???"

A quick picture with Daddy before church
After church, Finley helped give Daddy the card we made him and then his gift... a new alarm clock and tickets to see Passages... a Bible exhibit at the Art Museum.
I am so thankful for my wonderful husband who is an amazing Dad! I can't imagine being a single mom or going on this journey without him. Devin is so wonderful with our kids and it is such an honor to watch him parent our little ones!!!!
