Dear Jude,
Your 18 month post is a little late... Sorry about that little guy! I hope one day to not be running weeks behind on everything, but right now, it's just not happening! Let me just say that I don't know what we'd do without you! We just love the place you have in our family!
Here's what you're up to at 18 months:
- You weigh 22 pounds 15 ounces (10-25%). You're 32.5 inches tall (25%) and your head is 47 1/4 cm (25%).... This amazes me because I think you have an adorably large head so I expected it to be in a higher percentile! =)
- You are wearing 12-18 month clothes. You are pretty much wearing 12-18 months in everything, but do have a pair of shorts and a pair of pants that are 6-12 months that fit you.
- You are wearing size 4 diaper and size 4 in shoes.
- You still eat pretty well. You are pickier than you were, but still much more adventurous than your sister!
- Your favorite foods are pizza (you LOOOOOOVE pizza!!!!), any type of casserole, macaroni with beef in it, taco meat, mandarin oranges, and graham crackers. Your favorite words are pizza and crackers! You're not much of a bread or veggie eater.
- You are a climber. You can now pull out the dining room table chairs and climb up on top of the table. We've also had to hide the chairs to the smaller table because you like to climb on it as well.
- You are still a great sleeper. You like to sleep from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. then take a morning nap and another afternoon nap. It is not uncommon at all for you to sleep from 2-6 p.m. It's crazy! With school, we have had to wean you off your morning naps.... Now you sleep for about an hour at school and then I put you back down around 3:30 p.m.
- You are going through a really fussy stage right now... I think it's because you want to be more independent than you really can be at this age.
- You LOVE your blankie and taggie blanket! Every night you pull them out of your crib during story time and just love on them. I love seeing you this way! It's too sweet the way you love your loveys.
- You are quite the dancer. If I say "Dance!", you do! You love to shuffle your feet super fast as your "dance" moves!
- You say "pat, pat" all the time. It's from Little Einsteins... your favorite show. You love to point to the tv and say "pat, pat!"
- You are talking a ton now. You aren't as verbal as Finley was at this age, but wow, you've come soooo far since 15 months!
- You are still a binky sucker! You really only take it for naps and bedtime though!
- I think you are working on your last teeth. They have been spread out and though I suspect you will still get your two year molars, I think the rest of your main teeth are in.
- You can't get enough of being outside. You throw a fit if we go outside to grab something and you aren't allowed to go too.
- You are a super sweet big brother. You love to give Evi her binky and I catch you sharing toys with her. You've recently tried to give her your milk cup as well.
- You are fascinated by Finley. You want to do whatever she is doing!
- You are doing great at school. Your teachers say you are super sweet!
- You do have some separation anxiety when we leave you, but we have been assured that you get over it quickly. You are always glad to see me though which I just love!
- You like to dump everything on the floor, but fortunately you also like to pick up.
- You hate the vacuum cleaner.
- You are constantly on the go. You really are into everything and I can tell a huge difference between you and Finley. I am figuring out what it means to have a boy and I love it!
- You aren't as laid back as you used to be, but I think that is partially because of the stage of life you're in.... I'm curious to see if you end up being laid back again.
- You love my iphone. You have no idea how to use it (well, you try to swipe at the screen), but you just know it is fun!
- You have quite a few nicknames. Lately, you've been Buddy Boo or Boo or Boo Boo. You are my Judes, my Judester, and of course, my Jude Eli.
- You love taking your shoes off in the car. It's so frustrating.
- You will not stay in your high chair. You can get out no matter how we strap you in!
- You love books. You get so excited about story time before bed.
- You think that the way to turn on your radio is with your foot because you've seen me do it one too many times.
- You love to "vroom, vroom" cars.
- You LOVE to wash your hands. You make a beeline to the bathroom anytime the door is left open and climb up onto the step stool so that you can wash them.
- You are a good sport and laugh like crazy when you and Finley wrestle each other. I always think she is going to hurt you, but you hold your own.
- You can go up and down the stairs now by yourself. You've been able to crawl up the stairs for quite awhile, but have just learned how to go down them.
- You were really clingy a week ago and I took you to the doctor and sure enough, you had a doube ear infection. Your only signs of ear infections has been your clingyness... no crying... just clingy!
- You love drinking out of any cup with a straw!
- You dart off when we go outside. You don't like to stay with us. You want to explore, explore, explore!
- You are my heart and soul, little boy! You make me laugh constantly because you are just always up to "something!" I love your cuddles and your energy and I can't wait to spend the rest of your life and mine loving you!

P.S. My super fancy camera can't capture you because you are so fast. I really need to do a mini photo shoot with you soon, but these pictures of you dancing, crack me up! Thankfully, Aunt Beth took some of you recently as well!
