All Locked Up

Yesterday I was putting some laundry away and Finley was playing in our Master bathroom.  She loves to close doors these days so she was partially closing the bathroom door and playing Peek-A-Boo with me.  (There's been several occasions when she would close a door to a room, separating herself from me, and burst into tears.... She does not like there to be a physical barrier between her and everyone else.)

Well, yesterday, she closed the bathroom door and started crying so I immediately went to open the door back up when I found that she had locked the door!

Fortunately, we have the push button doorknobs and Devin had shown me how to open them with a paperclip.  So I ran downstairs, found a paperclip, ran back upstairs, and proceeded to jiggle it in the doorknob hole to open it.

Let me just say that when Finley is screaming like that, I have a difficult time concentrating.  After playing with it unsuccessfully for 30 seconds, I tried calling Devin.  I know I'm not supposed to panic in situations like that, but I was panicking! =)

Before Devin could even answer, the paperclip clicked inside the doorknob and I was able to rescue poor Finley.  She was so happy to see me, but not two seconds later, she was trying to lock the Master bedroom door! Oh, dear!

Of course, I'm just glad THIS didn't happen again!

My New Motto...

"The bigger the hair bow, the better the Momma."

Last night, one of my best friend's (Aubrey) had her baby shower and when she received a onesie with the above phrase, I laughed so hard!!!!! If only that were true... I would be the best Momma ever! =) I'm seriously adopting this as my new motto.

In honor of little Claire, I made a few "essential" items...

A completely impractical pair of shoes... I used leather on the bottom instead of fabric and was really happy with how they turned out. They were much more stable and held their shape better with the leather.

An outfit to wear while cheering on the Pokes... I didn't get a very good picture of the dress because I had it monogrammed and wasn't able to pick it up until right before the shower so I had to quickly photograph it and wrap it. The bloomers ended up really cute and I am definitely going to make more of them.

The perfect accessories for a photoshoot... I found the following pictures and decided to copy them.

Devin thought the bloomers were completely impractical which of course they are, but still cute!!!!! In my opinion, that's all that matters. =)

I just love sewing! I can't wait to make some new things for Finley!

Today...

Today I took a little test....

and it was POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even hours later, I am still in shock. Somehow the second time around I didn't expect to be so surprised. I immediately kneeled on the floor and just prayed...

Prayed for this little life inside me.

Prayed thankfulness that God blessed us once again.

Prayed that God would take this little one as His and remind me over and over again that I am but a shepherd to HIS sheep.

Prayed that my shock would wear off and that I would be filled with His peace and wisdom.

What a blessing it is to be a mom!

Dear Little One,
Today I found out that you exist.
Today I fell in love with you.
Today I began praying for your health, your presence, your personality, and most importantly your salvation.
Today begins our journey together and I cannot wait to meet you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mommy
