I absolutely love being snowed in! Our little family has had the best weekend just enjoying time stuck inside. Devin had to work on Thursday and Friday despite the storm, but fortunately, he was able to come home early both days. Our downstairs heat hasn't been working quite right and despite our effort to get it fixed before the storm, it still isn't entirely fixed. Fortunately, it does work off and on and Devin caved on the idea of making a fire so we've been plenty warm. We've been wanting to have the chimney swept before having a fire in this house and I've been begging and begging for one so I've been quite content to just sit and enjoy it now that we've finally made one!
I also made Devin's favorite potato soup recipe and am making my favorite South of the Border soup tonight. Obviously, I may be a bit stir-crazy since I took the time to take a picture of our soup ingredients! I think I could live on soup in the winter and knowing how our weather is, it could be 80 degrees next week so I'm using every opportunity to make my favorite recipes before winter is over.
Finley doesn't know what to think of snow yet so we haven't let her play in it or anything. I can't wait until she's old enough to build snowmen and make snow icecream! I did pose her in the front window so that I would have a picture of her with snow in the background!
I'm sure I'll be antsy to get out of the house for awhile tomorrow, but how fun it has been to just relax at home for the last four days!
