The Very Hungry Catepillar

There are moments when I think the best gift we ever gave Finley was Jude.  Of course, there are moments that I think having just one child would have been ever so much easier and would save me a lot of "What kind of heart are you showing to your brother-- a loving one or a selfish one?"  Ha!

When they do get along, they get along so well that it seems too good to be true... such as what happened the other day.  It was time to get Jude up from his nap so Finley and I headed upstairs.  I had just finished laundry so I was hauling up a basket of clean clothes.  We went into Jude's room and I left him in the crib while I put his things away.  Finley and Jude were "talking" and Jude was bouncing up and down.  Since everything seemed to be going well and Jude was safe in his crib, I thought I would run down and put Finley's clothes away in her room.

Down the hall, I could hear Finley get into Jude's closet and then the next thing I heard was her "reading" The Very Hungry Catepillar to him.  It was so sweet!  I could tell she was showing him the pictures as she read it.

She brought the book downstairs with her and insisted on reading it a zillion more times to Jude.  Devin videoed it when he got home.  We missed getting the first page on video, but this is a pretty good representation of her take on the book!

I love seeing my kids interact more and more!  It's a beautiful thing to watch and I pray that there will continue to be more moments like this scattered between the "No, that's mine!" ones! =)
