Now that Finley is actually communicating with us, I am just amazed at how real she seems! With every milestone, she become more of a person, but "talking" gives her even more of a personality!
Right before vacation, she started using the sign for "more" and it has now evolved into "I want".... "more" food, "more" remote control, "more" cell phone, "more" "more" "more"... and she is so super proud of herself when she communicates with us and we "get" what she is saying. It has also lessened the grunts for which I am so thankful!
I admit when Finley said "Hi" to Jenny last week that I thought it might be a bit of a fluke, but the next day, she said "Hi" to the Wal-Mart cashier (so polite is our little girl!) and then on Sunday she pulled up on Devin's chair at lunch and said "Hi, Dada!" (Does that count as her first sentence?) just as clear as could be.
Tonight I was giving her a bath and said "Is this your duck?" and she said "Hi, duck!" I couldn't believe it! She always waves when she says "Hi" which is super-cute.
We also had another major milestone tonight... caught on tape. Finley has been pulling up on furniture for awhile and in the last week, she has started taking a step (while holding on) here and there, but tonight, she walked the whole length of the coffee table... What she won't do to get her three favorite things: The Remote Control, the cell phone, and the Itzbeen. Now that's motivation!
At the end, we try to get her to say "Hi!" and she does, but it isn't her best effort. She can say it really clearly so I'll have to work on getting it on video soon! Oh, how I love our little girl!
