February Birthday Catch-Up

"Up peas, Grandpa Bill!"

February is a busy month for birthdays in my family.  This weekend we celebrated my dad's and brother's birthdays.  They fall just 3 days apart so on Saturday night we drove to Tulsa to eat dinner with them.  We listened to the OSU game on the way and made it in time to see the last two minutes on TV of our victorious win over the #1 Jayhawks!  I think Devin is still on high.

Even though it wasn't HER birthday, Uncle West and Aunt Tracey bought her the coolest book that goes along with the Little People Farm Set that they bought her for Christmas.

Finley LOVED Aunt Tracey reading to her!

I unfortunately have very few pictures from our celebration with them... Friday night after I got home from a church retreat, I found myself throwing up almost every half hour.  It was not fun and by far the sickest I have been in quite some time.  Though I am feeling better, I'm not quite back to normal.  Since we don't see my family as often as we would like, I was really sad to be so sick on the one weekend that we had plans to be with them.

At the beginning of February, we were able to celebrate Uncle Kenny's birthday with him.  I just realized that I never posted pictures from his and Aunt Beth's visit with us.  Finley has always been quite taken with Uncle Kenny, but this trip, I think she developed even more of a crush on him.  She was just mesmerized by him!

They came into town the night before Kenny's birthday so the four of us went out to dinner while Allison watched Finley.  It was really nice to have some quality adult time even though we didn't make the best restaurant choice.  Then on Kenny's actual birthday, Beth and I just hung out for the first time in forever while Kenny went to a doctor's appointment.  As we were getting ready to meet Kenny for lunch, Beth decided she needed bangs so in the middle of our bathroom, she cut them herself!  I was cracking up, but they looked great!

Kenny and Finley had a blast at lunch together while Beth and I sort of faded into the background.  We then went to the mall where Uncle Kenny gave Finley all kinds of fun stroller rides.  After that, they said their goodbyes and Finley threw an absolute fit when Beth told her bye.  The fit turned into a complete tantrum however when Kenny said bye to her.  I couldn't believe it!  She has started to fuss a bit when Devin and I leave her, but she has never fussed when anyone else has left her!

I told Beth that I was glad that her and Kenny don't live any closer or I would move down to #4 on her favorite list.  I'm pretty okay with Daddy being #1 on Finley's list, but I'm not sure how I would feel about being replaced by Kenny and Beth! =)
