Well, yesterday was our first morning together...
This is Emory and she's 8 months. If ever there was a baby that could make Finley somehow seem like a difficult child, it would be little Emory. She is just an amazingly easy baby! She sat in the bouncy chair or propped up on the Boppy and just smiled as us older girls played. She somehow knew exactly when I had an extra hand to hold her and boy, did I love that! I love, love, love holding babies! She is so sweet, content, and pleasant!
This is Liberty and she's 5. We had a BLAST together! She and I played tea party, grocery shopping, school, singing/ piano lessons, etc. together. We also watched a bit of a movie, colored together, discussed Bible stories, talked eye color, and just had so much fun! She is incredibly well-behaved and I had to laugh when I asked her something and she said "Yes, ma'am. My momma told me if you asked me anything to say 'Yes, ma'am' and go do it." Ha, ha! She is just adorable!
Devin and I were both curious to see how Finley would do. Since she is so social, we weren't too concerned! Well, she just LOVED Liberty! She would just jabber and jabber and jabber to her. Trying sooooo hard to communicate with her new friend. It was precious! She had a lot of fun playing with her and when we went to get her after her nap, Finley completely beamed that Liberty was with me.
Finley also enjoyed Emory... for the most part. She was quite taken with her and would just watch her. She would touch her little hand so gently and blow kisses at her. She seemed to sense that she needed to be very gentle which was great! She just so wanted to love on "baby".
Of course, she did become a little jealous of Emory when I wasn't able to pick both of them up at the same time. Finley did not like not being able to be held by me because I was holding another baby! I had to laugh when Devin came home for lunch and picked Finley up because for the first time EVER, Finley reached out to me (I was holding Emory) and didn't want to be held by Devin. Ahhh... to be needed! It really is a great feeling! =)
More to come on our weekly playdates, I'm sure, but I laughed last night thinking that Amy actually thinks I'm the one doing her a favor when it couldn't be more opposite! I love having this chance to be with these two precious girls! Not only do I get my baby fix , but I also get to glimpse into the future and see how much fun Finley will be in a few years!
