We're leaving tomorrow for the beach! I'm so excited and a little nervous. It'll be very interesting to see how Finley does on the plane. I don't really expect her to be fussy, but can picture her squealing and shrieking so loud that the other passengers get annoyed! She can be sooooo LOUD sometimes, but I guess she comes by that honestly.
Anyway, I'm finalizing our packing today and was trying to figure out what toys to take. Devin had already asked me about this and I wasn't really sure what we'd be able to fit in our exactly 50 pound full suitcases. (I'm going to be so frustrated if they end up being overweight and we have to pay!)
I decided to pack her Little People, some books, and her blocks. I am not, however, packing her FAVORITE toy. And yes, I know in her 9 month birthday post, I said her favorite toy is Noah (who I did pack)... I had actually forgotten about this "toy" or maybe I have just tried to block it out. Do you recognize it?
You don't? This white cap of an object doesn't look like something that you find at your local toy store? It doesn't appear to be the best Christmas gift you could ever ask for? It's not all the rage with the kids you know?
Because all of you probably have this "toy" in your house. Readily available to entertain any kids that might be around. In fact, I don't have to pack this "toy" because they'll have one where we are going!
Truth is that Finley really doesn't play with toys. Nope, she much prefers electrical cords, cell phones, remote controls, DVD boxes, and pretty much anything else that can be opened, closed, taken apart, or manipulated in some manner. I would seriously consider putting on her birthday invitation "No toys allowed... please bring non-functioning electronic items that you no longer need and that won't kill our daughter" except that we really don't want anyone to feel obligated to bring gifts! And yes, I'm already planning her first birthday party! It's only 3 months away... less than 3 months away!
But back to her FAVORITE toy... here is a better picture...
Now do you recognize it? The cap off the toilet screw! Disgusting, huh? The door to our downstairs bathroom doesn't latch exactly right so Finley has figured out how to push the door open. She makes a beeline to it every chance she gets!
Oh and before I forget.... In other much more attractive news, Finley made her version of the sign for "more" today while eating! She was so proud of herself! It's so fun that she is starting to communicate!

I miss my Finley so much. I hope you all have a great trip. I have a lot to tell you about our time with Dad and Shiela.....I think this wedding/marriage may be a disaster. My kids have been uninvited to the wedding. AWESOME!
