On Friday, Beth and her niece, Kassidy, came for a visit. I always love when Beth's nieces come because they love helping with Finley! Kassie had Finley laughing up a storm and even helped carry her diaper bag and retrieve her binkies! I could use her help every day!
We started off our day with a little shopping and then met Beth's old roommate, Fizz, for lunch. Fizz's sister, her sister's kids, her mom, and her aunt all came along so we had a huge group! Unfortunately, even with two servers, the service was horrible! So horrible that the manager picked up our tab even though we never complained! Anyway, Fizz is adorably pregnant and her nephew, Gabriel, looked at Finley once we were seated and said "Mom, I like babies like her." It was soooo precious!!!!
Finley "coloring" for the first time
I also ran into a parent of one of my former students who said he still talks about me! I loved hearing that! He was one of my favorites (if I had favorites, that is!) and I was so glad to hear how he was doing.
After lunch, we ran a few wedding errands. We had to find fabric from some projects that I'm going to be sewing for Beth. I sure hope they turn out well!!!!! I'm really excited about them.
The rest of the weekend was spent preparing for our trip on Thursday, but Finley did have a few major milestones. First, she pulled herself up on the refrigerator... I was super impressed since there wasn't really anything to hold on to, she just sort of climbed her way up. Secondly, she started clapping her hands! It is so cute. Thirdly, and much more monumental, she is now able to wear bows in her hair!!!! In her actual hair!!!! With no headband! I know she is absolutely beautiful with or without a bow, but I so enjoy making her look like a girl. Once she becomes my tomboy, I'll find every ball cap I can! I just like accessorizing. =)
I also made these adorable boots for Devin's cousin who is having a boy in October!
