All About Finley

How can it be that my little baby is now officially a year old!?!  It's so crazy to think about how much she has changed and grown!  She is as precious today as she was a year ago!

Finley weighs 18 pounds 12 ounces and is 29 inches long.  She is in the 10th percentile in weight and the 25th in length.  She continues to maintain her growth curve and is doing just great!

She has started pulling things off the shelf while out shopping so I am learning to "drive" down the center of the grocery lanes!

She still loves getting under the kitchen sink and into the DVD cabinet.  She loves to pull everything out.

She can now stand on her tip-toes and can reach so much more than I would like her to!  The other day, she almost pulled my camera off the end table next to the couch and I thought my heart was going to stop!

She has started scratching.  Devin and I always thought it was weird that she never had an itch that needed to be scratched, but just recently we've seen her scratch her leg.

Most of her 4 top teeth have emerged so she now has 6 teeth.  She seems to be getting another bottom tooth on her left side.

She has started climbing onto the fireplace and just sitting.  Devin and I think she looks like she is serving time-out!  This is the only pictured I captured this month of her on the fireplace, but most of the time she is sitting facing towards the living room like she is in serious trouble!

She is wearing 6-12 month clothing and will probably be in this size for awhile longer.  She is growing out of size 2 shoes and into size 3.

Along with reaching for things on the shelves, she can also stand up in every single shopping car no matter how tight I get the seatbelt.  There's something about how the belt is spaced a part that allows her to wiggle right out of it.

She has finally learned how to drink from her bottle when sitting up.  For the longest time, she couldn't understand how to lean her head back and keep balance of everything.  She also has tried to drink her bottle while crawling!  It wasn't too successful.

She has started associating the beep of the door to Daddy getting home.  It is the most precious thing!  As soon as she hears the beep, she crawls out of the playroom and peers around the corner waiting for Daddy to make his appearance!

She hates bibs and can now rip them off.

She enjoyed her first ever experience in a swing this month!

She has started dancing.  When music starts playing, she'll stand and bounce up and down.  It's the cutest thing ever!

She has definitely started initiating climbing the stairs.  She races to them so we have now put a baby gate up... if we happen to leave it open, she somehow senses it and goes straight to them.

She loves finger foods (string cheese and bananas are still her favorites) and we're starting to work with her on using a spoon.  She really prefers to eat big people food versus baby food so I'm becoming more creative on what I'm feeding her.  She still eats jar baby food, but only alongside finger foods.

She is still a great sleeper.  She take 2 2-hour naps each day and goes to be around 7:30 p.m. each night.  She usually sleeps at least 12 hours, but sometimes more if she doesn't hear us get up.  I love that she is sleeping so consistently.

She likes putting lids on things.  She can almost get the lid back on the formula which really impresses me.  She also likes playing with our pots and pans and will put lids on them.  She has really good hand-eye coordination.

She likes to climb into the dishwasher.  Yes, that's a knife in her hand and yes, I went to get my camera to take a quick picture before removing her from her reach.  Mother of the year nominee, I know.

She is still a talker though it's funny to notice that some days she doesn't talk much at all and other days she "hi"'s everyone to death.  She loves to babble in the car and I could literally listen to it for hours.  She hasn't really added a lot of new words to her vocab though she did say Look this month and has started saying Cat more clearly.

She is taking 4 bottles of 4 ounces of formula a day, but will soon be taking real milk!

With teething, she has been wanting her binky a bit more, but still uses it mainly for bed and car rides.  (This is how I found her on the morning of her 1st birthday!!!!!)

She has taken a few more half steps and a couple more "real" steps, but isn't walking yet.  We can tell she is thinking about it more because she will stand for awhile before dropping to her knees to crawl.

She is becoming more ticklish and her laugh is becoming more full.  Oh, how I love that sound!

I just can't help it!  I love her blue eyes!!!!!  The are so absolutely beautiful!

She has "fallen" into the bathtub a couple of times this month.  She so desperately wants to get in that she climbs over the side and goes head first into the water.  Thankfully, we've always been right there since we were kind of surprised that she could hoist herself in.

She is still wearing size 3 diapers and will be for probably the next year! =)

She likes to climb under the table and stand up...  She is going to get stuck one of these days!!!!

She isn't really into t.v.  I've put in a Baby Einstein or Baby Faith DVD a couple of times, but she just bypasses it on her way to bigger adventures.

And as always, she is truly the most wonderful, beautiful baby ever and I love her more than I can stand!
