Homecoming 2009

Our Family Last Year (I LOVE this picture of us!)
We are ordering our family picture with Pete for this year's picture....

We took Finley to her first Walk-Around for Homecoming on Friday!  Last year, I tried to walk Finley out, but was unsuccessful!  I thought it was just too fitting for her to come during Homecoming, but it wasn't meant to be.

This year, we were able to carry Finley in the Baby Bjorn which was great!  I'm not looking forward to maneuvering the crowd with a stroller, but I'm sure we'll manage when it comes time for that.

Coney Island, anyone?

All-in-all Finley enjoyed her first Homecoming.  She was just a bit scared of Pistol Pete, but recovered nicely.

Enjoying the Hoops

We met up with Allison and Andrew for Homecoming and Hoops and I have to say that was the best part of the weekend (besides us winning, of course!).  The basketball team was doing a dance routine with the pom girls when Coach Ford comes out and dances in the middle.  It was hysterical and he was actually half-way decent!

On Saturday night, Finley enjoyed her first ever REAL babysitter.  We had talked to Allison about keeping her because the game was soooo late and we thought it would just be so easy to let our neighbor keep her since we wouldn't have to worry about driving to pick her up or anything like that.  Well, it turned out that Allison couldn't watch her until right at game time so we hired a babysitter that she recommended for a couple of hours so that we could get to the game on time.  Taylor, the babysitter, was wonderful!  She told Allison that Finley was the best baby she has ever kept and she wrote us a little note telling us how much she loved her.

To be honest, we have been looking for a babysitter and this was a great opportunity for us to test one out for a short time period.  We thought about asking other friends (Don't worry, Aubrey!  We definitely want you to watch her soon!!!!!) to keep Finley since Allison couldn't keep her the whole time, but decided it was time for us to hire help so that we have a go-to person in the future.  I admit that when I talked to Taylor on the phone, I was a little scared.  She sounded SOOOOOOOOOO young!  I thought "I'm leaving my baby with a baby!  She can't even drive yet!"  Thankfully, Taylor did a great job and was really mature plus she babysits in order to travel to Cambodia every summer to help with an orphanage.  How could we not hire her based on that!!!!!

So Devin and I had a little date night on Saturday and enjoyed it so much!  It was just a bit cold, but only because we didn't dress properly.  It was the perfect weather for football and since we won, it made it totally worth it to get home at 1 a.m.!  We're so old!  Hee, hee!

Oh, and maybe I lied because the real highlight of the weekend was meeting Judith! She is a friend of Beth's and her blog was the first one I ever followed.  I am just in love with her and her sweet girls and husband!  I totally embarrassed myself when I met her husband a few weeks ago at an OSU game because I was so excited!  And Judith is even more adorable in person (if that's possible) and I didn't want to talk because I just wanted to listen to her cute accent!  I was so glad that she wanted to meet me too!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to see my name on your lovely, perfect blog!! I can assure you I was more excited to meet you than you were to meet me. I reminded Beth probably like 5 times every time I talked or emailed her that I wanted to meet you. I'm also going to blog about meeting you and post the pic when I can finally find the time.

All of your pics are so cute. Finley is adorable, we weren't brave enough to take Lyla so we only took Bella Bear.

I didn't realize mine was the first blog you ever followed, that is too cool. Hopefully we'll be able to meet again someday, you never know we could wind up back in Oklahoma....
